Club Captain Adam Heaton said "We were pleased with our first ever league campaign at Castle Bromwich, finishing fourth in the league. The most pleasing display of the season was the 6-2 away win at Weoley Hill Tennis Club. Last year Weoley Hill were voted County Club of the year and they boast a total of 400 registered members. To go there with our team, average age of 19 years, and winning was very satisfying. Wylde Green and Streetly had both been promoted, so to get 4-4 draws with both of their matches was a quite a good start. We already have more members expressing a wish to play in next years Spring League, so hopefully we can achieve promotion next time around".

Sarah Messenger and Adam Heaton will be taking their DCA Coaching Badge during 2006.

Message from Paul Messenger regarding the 2006 Season

Thank you to all the parents and players who supported our Presentation Disco on Saturday, 30 September.
On the night we made a profit of £178 after paying the DJ, so this sets us up with a great start for the 2007 season.
This year the Saturday Juniors and the Friday Youth Section have been well attended, with more newcomers than ever before. We have had younger aged starters which has been fantastic. We are looking to set up mini tennis groups for 2007 in addition to the Junior and Youth Sections.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Carol Hatfield and Sharon Green for their help on the Committee and a special thank you to Adam and Sarah for their support on the coaching.
We hope the children have enjoyed this summer and will return to us again in April 2007.
Watch out for further details on this website.
Also a special thank you to Castle Bromwich Cricket & Sports Club for donating the £240 for all our trophies and to Mike Gibbons for all his hard work and support on our website.

Don't forget the club is open every Friday and Saturday throughout the Autumn and Winter, from 8pm until 11pm. Families are welcome and so are your friends. You are all paid up members, so we look forward to seeing you from time to time. Remember you can bring in the family - and it's cheaper and safer than going to the pub. (Well, some of them anyway!)       Best Regards,    Paul
